When Mary McManus was faced with the challenge of post polio syndrome, a progressive neurological disease, she turned to writing inspirational poetry overflowing with messages of love, hope, healing and spiritual freedom. She experienced transformation of mind, body, and spirit and went on to run the 2009 Boston Marathon. Her poems and journey touched the lives of Alicia Staley, three-time cancer survivor, and Janice Pero, incest survivor.
